Kundalini Kriya for Sexual Energy Sublimation
Sexual energy is the raw current of life itself, the sacred fire that creates, sustains, and animates all existence. In the yogic and tantric sciences, this energy is not something to be suppressed or wasted, but rather refined and elevated into higher states of consciousness. When directed upward through Kundalini kriya, what begins as desire at the root transforms into clarity in the mind, devotion in the heart, and bliss in union with the Divine. Instead of being lost through fleeting pleasure or ego-driven lust, the very same power that stirs the body can be channeled into awakening, creativity, and spiritual radiance.
This is a classic from the tantric/Kundalini lineages:
1. Spinal Energy Breathing (Sushumna Kriya)
Sit with spine tall, hands in Gyan Mudra.
Inhale deeply and imagine the sexual energy at the root (Muladhara) rising up the spine like light through a hollow tube.
Exhale and let it rest gently at the third eye or crown.
Continue for 11–31 minutes.
(This is sometimes paired with a gentle root lock [Mula Bandha] to lift the energy upward.)
2. Sat Kriya (from Yogi Bhajan’s tradition)
Sit on heels in Rock Pose, arms overhead with palms together.
Chant “Sat Nam” rhythmically:
Pull the navel in and up on “Sat” (truth),
Relax on “Nam” (identity).
This pumps sexual energy up the spine and stabilizes it in the higher chakras.
Start with 3 minutes, build up to 11+.
Mantras for Sublimation into Divine Bliss
Mantra is essential because it gives the energy a direction. Otherwise, sexual energy just circulates in the lower chakras.
“Wahe Guru” (Kundalini tradition): Translates as “Ecstatic wonder of the Divine.” It lifts raw desire into divine awe.
“Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya” (Vaishnava mantra): Surrendering desire to the universal Self.
“So’ham” (“I am That”): Inhale “So,” exhale “Ham.” Excellent for sexual urges — it reminds the body its deepest desire is union with God.
Important Note
The key is not suppression but sublimation.
Suppression = tension, frustration.
Sublimation = relaxation, channeling upward.
Always keep the heart open when doing these practices: otherwise the energy can get stuck in the head.
Here is a Daily Practice for Sexual Energy Sublimation into God-Bliss1. Centering & Invocation (2 min)
Sit tall, hands at heart in prayer.
Close eyes, take 3 long breaths.
Silently or aloud invoke:
“May this life-force be offered into the fire of God, to awaken bliss and union.”
2. Sat Kriya (3–11 min)
Sit on heels (Vajrasana/Rock Pose). Arms overhead, palms together.
Chant “Sat Nam”:
Sat = pull navel in and up (draws sexual energy upward).
Nam = relax belly.
Continue rhythmically.
End: inhale, squeeze root lock (Mula Bandha) and direct energy up the spine. Hold 10–20 sec, then exhale and relax.
3. Spinal Breathing (Sushumna Kriya) (7–11 min)
Sit cross-legged or on a cushion.
Inhale from root → crown, visualizing light moving up the spine.
Exhale crown → root, but keep it subtle — don’t push energy back down, just imagine golden nectar descending.
Option: whisper “So” on inhale, “Ham” on exhale.
Add gentle Mula Bandha (root lock) on inhale to direct energy upward.
4. Heart-Crown Mantra Meditation (5–7 min)
Choose one mantra to anchor:
Wahe Guru (ecstatic wonder of God).
So’ham (I am That).
Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya (surrender to the Divine Self).
Practice:
Inhale into heart, exhale into crown while softly chanting the mantra.
Feel sexual energy now as devotional fire rising into bliss.
5. Closing Integration (2 min)
Sit silently, palms open on knees.
Visualize golden light radiating through your whole body.
Whisper:
“The bliss of God is my true pleasure. The Beloved is here.”
Timing:
Short version: ~20 min (3 Sat Kriya, 7 spinal breathing, 5 mantra, 2 closing).
Full version: ~30 min (11 Sat Kriya, 11 spinal breathing, 7 mantra).
Tips for Success
Early morning is most powerful
Never force, if energy feels overwhelming, place hand on heart and slow down breath.
Journaling after practice can help anchor insights.
