The Two Traps Nobody Warned You About (Short)

There are two versions of the feminine most women get handed and neither one is the the path to true liberation.

The first one most of us know well. It happens naturally in society: stay small. Be soft. Be selfless. Do not take up too much space, want too much, or be too much. Go find a rich husband. It comes wrapped in language about the right path, purity and being a good woman and what it actually does is remove women from their own authority, their own desire, their own voice.

Generations of women have walked through life half-present, apologizing for existing, wondering why they feel so hollow.

And then there is the second trap.

For women who finally saw through the first one, who left the church or the culture or the relationship that told them to stay small, there was something waiting on the other side.

It calls itself “liberation.” It speaks the language of goddess, of sacred feminine, of awakening. It says you are powerful, you are a priestess, rise up and claim what is yours. It feels like the exact opposite of the first trap and that is exactly why it works so well.

But it is still a trap.

The first one made women small. The second one inflates them into a performance of power that has nothing underneath it. Rage dressed as wisdom. Manipulation rebranded as feminine energy. Ego inflation sold as sovereignty. And underneath the titles and the followings, many of the women teaching it were never actually well. Never actually integrated. Never actually free.

The followers could feel something was off, even when they could not name it.

Real feminine authority looks nothing like either of these. It is grounded and fierce and tender and whole and it does not need an audience to exist. The women who carry it are often the quietest in the room. They are just living it.

There is a way through both traps, and it has always been the same one: the real, slow, unglamorous work of becoming integrated. Whole. Yourself.

I write about what that actually looks like, the psychology behind both traps, and what I am watching shift right now, in the full piece here.
